New Book Rating/Reviewing Site
Recently, I was introduced to the askDavid book promotion site. I was skeptical at first, but there was no money changing hands or hefty requirements that would take up my time, so I decided to participate. I’m glad I did. It’s a savvy site with a good business model. I think it might work out as a new book rating method. They link to the Amazon ratings books have already, but you can go to the askDavid site and add your own to a variety of books there as well as seeing the new reviews by others — reviews not found on Amazon or elsewhere.
What benefit to go to their site instead of Amazon? Well, for one thing, the information/blurb on askDavid is unique. Authors are required to put in something new. This might include some more interesting author information, character interview, a more extensive mini-synopsis…all kinds of things. And the reviews are unique, too. Each review is “checked manually” and can’t be something posted elsewhere. To me, that says that you’ll really get an honest review to help you decide on your book purchases.
Frankly, I don’t know what askDavid gets out of this (they’re not charging for anything), but at the moment I don’t care. They’re publicizing my books (2 of them so far: Liv’s Journey and Ace-High Flush) and I plan to continue the experiment.
Take a look at askDavid.com and tell me what you think. Right now, you’ll find both Liv’s Journey and Ace-High Flush on their front page.
Have a great weekend! You’ll see something new here on Monday for Memorial Day.
