Cover: Kiki's MillionaireWelcome to Weekend Writing Warriors on Patricia Green Books. I have a large back list of books (over 20). Since I won’t have a new release until April, I thought I’d share something from one of my books from earlier in my career, Kiki’s Millionaire (blurb and extended excerpt here). You read that right, “Millionaire,” not “Billionaire.” Hey, we all need to start somewhere.

In this segment, Kiki and Jim meet for the first time. They’re in a coffee shop and Kiki is having a serious problem with her laptop. Jim approaches, offering to help.

“Are you with Geek Squad or something?”

“Something like that. My name is Jim Chesterfield.” He said it like she ought to know him, so she looked at him for a moment, narrowing her eyes as she thought.

“Jim Chesterfield…James Chesterfield? The James Chesterfield?”

A slightly embarrassed look washed over his face, followed by a playful grin. “That’s what my mother calls me.”

I hope you enjoyed this little piece of Kiki’s Millionaire. The book can be found at these retailers:

Blushing Books, Amazon.com, and Barnes & Noble.

Thank you for joining me here today. Hop along to the other Weekend Writing Warriors and see what they have to offer. There’s something for everyone!

  1. I liked it, really enjoyed the conversation they were having and I could just visualize his face. Excellent excerpt!

  2. Nice 8! It’s a very interesting dialogue, and it certainly left me wanting to know more! 🙂

    Nicely done!

  3. Terrific dialogue, Patricia!

  4. I love the blurb! This is kind of like having Eric Clapton offer to tune your guitar, isn’t it? 🙂

  5. Very cute! And goes into spankings, what fun. Congrats on your newest release! I believe we have a mutual friend, Jenna Jaxson.

    • It’s a pleasure to meet you. Jenna is one of my dearest friends. Also, to clarify, this is NOT a new release. This book was published in 2010. It was my first spanking romance (out of many). Thank you for stopping by.

  6. This looks like a FUN story. I love his embarrassed response. Yes, all the rich heroes nowadays are billionaires. Not good enough to be just a millionaire anymore. That’s inflation for you.

  7. I like his attitude. Many another big-name person wouldn’t be so down to earth and nonchalant about it.

  8. I love his “that’s what my mother calls me.”

  9. HA! This one made me laugh out loud! I hope Kiki didn’t spill her coffee on her laptop when she realized who the “geek” was 🙂 Love the dialogue!

  10. I like it! Quite believable. The dialogue is natural and real. Nicely done!

  11. I loved this book! Kiki is one of my favorite heroines of yours. This meeting is classic. Great snippet!
