couple cartoon love at first sight 27296151_sZ: Zap

How many people do you suppose get zapped by love at first sight? It’s never happened to me, but I’ve certainly met people who have experienced it. Is there something critical in eye contact that tells a person that this is the one?

In my book, The Blacksmith’s Bride (part of “The Sons of Johnny Hastings” box set), Abel and Sunny basically find love at first sight. He sees her playing Blind Man’s Bluff with a group of late-teenage girls, and he’s immediately smitten. She meets him over the punch bowl and, whammo, she’s hooked. After that, it’s only a matter of jumping through hoops and over hurdles until they’re together.

That might have been the only instance I’ve written about love at first sight for both parties. Immediate attraction from one party or another, yes, I’ve written that plenty of times. But like in the real world, I think love at first sight is a rarity and deserves an equally rare exploration.

Have you ever been zapped by love at first sight? Did it last?

This concludes our alphabet series. I’d like to thank Celeste Jones for coming up with this idea and Renee Rose of Spanking Romance Reviews for running with the ball and sponsoring the project. I hope you enjoyed exploring these various topics as much as I did. I’m back from vacation now, so I’m going to get right to work on some new and fun books to round out the rest of the year.

Thank you for joining me!

Don’t miss the other participants of the Spanking Romance A-Z Challenge.

For your hopping convenience:

  1. I don’t recall being zapped. I guess it happens with some people, but no with mr.

  2. No love at first site for me.

  3. I think I knew Mr. Jones was the one pretty quickly but I don’t recall any sort of zap of love the instant we met. I’ve certainly been zapped with lust at first sight.

Thanks for taking on the A to Z Challenge and Congrats for making it to the end. Yay!

Have you ever been zapped by love at first sight? Did it last? Nope, not for me! I will say that my father admits that it was that way when he met my mother, but not for her! My father had returned from a tour of duty in Germany and a mutual friend introduced them. Dad was immediately smitten with her, Mom had a boyfriend! Dad was overheard later by her brothers saying to the friend, “I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, she is all I think about!” and the teasing the older brothers did! My Mom is #11 of 13 children and the baby girl. Well, Dad wold go visit Grandma, and she claims “He licked the cow to get the calf.” Mom did ask Dad to go with her to her prom, and that is when she feel in love with him. They will celebrater 58 years of marriage this September!

  5. Love at first sight? Hmmm No, I don’t think that’s ever happened to me. But after my first real conversation with my husband I said “I’m going to marry that man someday.”

  6. Yep, there is such a thing. My husband and I met at a mutual friend’s wedding. We were engaged within a month and married a year later. We have been married for 27 years now. I never discount the “love at first sight” concept!
