Today, I’d like to move on to the second book in the Daughter of the Moon series, Daughter of the Moon, Book 2: Depths. We’ll focus on this book throughout the month of February.

Let’s start smack-dab in the beginning of the book. You might recall from book 1 that Charles is Sonata’s ex but he doesn’t like that change. Mikhail has her full attention now, and he won’t take any guff from his former best-friend.

Charles watched Sonata and Mikhail begin to walk out of the clearing, his frustration turning to fury marked by the flush on his tanned face and his downward slanting brown brows. “I see that you’ve become the willing servant at last, Sonata. He no longer even has to speak and you open your arms and legs for him. I don’t suppose that I should be surprised. You were always very obedient for me as well.”

Mikhail gathered up his things and Sonata’s and, taking her by the elbow, began to walk from the clearing, past Charles.

You don’t really think Mikhail is going to take the insult to his sweetheart sitting down, do you? What do you think he’ll do?

This is the last week for tidbits from Daughter of the Moon, Book 1: Surface, and I’m sorry to see it end. I’ve enjoyed sharing this book with you. If you’ve enjoyed what you’ve seen, I encourage you to get a copy and find out how Sonata and Mikhail make their way through the rough spots.

This snippet takes place at the point where the war has come to overtake their lives. Since it’s a nuclear conflagration, there isn’t much they can do about it but take shelter. Their friends have begun to do just that.

Sonata went directly to Mikhail’s arms as they lingered behind. Neither really wanted to enter the frightening chapter that had begun. Sonata reached up and stroked the tall man’s stubbled face, urging his mouth toward hers. Their kiss was deep, slow, sad. Sonata wondered what it would be like to belong with this man, not for a stolen weekend, but forever. With events as they were unfolding, perhaps this weekend was closer to forever than she imagined.

Next week, we’ll move on to Daughter of the Moon, Book 2: Depths, the second and final book in this series.

In this bit, Sonata’s enforced weekend with Mikhail comes to a close. Or will it?

“I won’t forget this weekend, Mikhail,” she whispered in his ear, pulling his head down to hers. She bit his earlobe and tickled it with her tongue. “It’s like I’ve been touched for the first time,” she breathed. “I’ll never forget.” Oh, Luna, she almost wished she could forget!

Mikhail grabbed her then, and pulled her hard against him, kissing her fiercely.

In this snippet, Sonata and Mikhail have been playing a role-playing game with their cohort. It’s a little like Dungeons and Dragons, but all high tech and shiny. Sonata has lost this game at the very last stage, when only she and Mikhail remained in the game. Mikhail has chosen what he wants as a prize.

“I beg for your mercy,” Sonata ground out, throwing each word in Mikhail’s face. “I have lost the ultimate challenge, and ask you to accept–”

“Physical service from now until Monday at noon,” prompted Larry.

“Physical service from now until Monday at noon,” she growled.

Mikhail, clearly undaunted, smiled from ear to ear. “I accept this prize.”

You have to wonder what physical service Mikhail is expecting. Betcha already know.

In this segment, our hero, Mikhail, is doing a wrestling workout with his good friend Charles. Charles has plans for Sonata (our heroine), that Mikhail finds repulsive.

Mikhail became visibly enraged at Charles’ commentary. He’d known Charles for fifteen years and was well aware of his sexual dominance with women, but he’d never seen Charles so calculating. He was furious at Charles’ implied plan to teach Sonata how to be a submissive, and then discard her as boring. To take a beautiful, fragile, eager, virginal creature and train her to become what only the most experienced and jaded sophisticates became, was just too ruthless. Mikhail’s angry growl would have made a less arrogant man than Charles back down.

Muscles bulging with effort, Mikhail pushed Charles off and moved behind him.

Today is my debut on 6 Sentence Sunday. I welcome you to my site and into my little bit of romantic make-believe. I thought I’d start with a few sentences from my 4th book (of 14), the first in a 2-book series, published by Renaissance E Books. It’s speculative erotic romance. All comments are welcome, and I encourage you to explore around here; there’s a lot to discover.

In this snippet, Mikhail and Sonata meet at a party, and Mikhail finds out she’s just broken up with her beau. He’s been very attracted to her for some time, but has been respectful of her relationship. Unfortunately, someone slipped a mickey into her dessert. Our honorable hero foregoes momentary pleasure, but it isn’t far from his mind.

She began to nod again, and only stopped when he gently gripped her fragile chin with his hand. “And, you’ve misunderstood me. I just want to go where it’s more quiet. I’m not out to share with you.” Not today at least. When he spilled his seed, he liked his partner to feel every nerve cell and remember it.
