This week, I realized that I’d only shared one little bit from Handling Stormy with you. I must remedy that at once, so here’s another short segment. Some of these sentences are really short, so I took a little liberty counting.

In this snippet, attorney Jeff Hand is out in the countryside visiting a client in the client’s home. As he knocks on the door, he hears noises from inside–noises that make him concerned for his clients’ safety. He barges in, ready to fight intruders. What he discovers is a man spanking his wife. Puzzled, Jeff calms down and they start a civilized conversation leading to this…

“Does the…the…um…”

“Spanking, son. That’s what it is.”

“Yes. Yes, of course. Well, does that settle things?”

“Almost always. It reminds her of her contract with me, to respect and obey, and sometimes it leads to other things more pleasant.” Now it was Leland’s turn to be a little embarrassed.

Maybe they should move on to business, though the idea of having a relationship like the Randolphs’ was a very interesting thing for Jeff to contemplate.

So now Jeff’s mind has been opened to new possibilities. This might be his ah-ha moment.

Pilar is having a tantrum, and Deuce isn’t very happy about being her target.

Time to put an end to the tantrum. “That’s enough.” He grabbed her by the waist and hauled her over to the bed where he sat down and pulled her over his lap. Her little nightie rode up her back and exposed her bare bottom. He gave her a few spanks while she spit epithets at him. He whacked her several more times. “Get it all out now, Pilar. Scream and kick and cry, but get it all out.”

Today I’m going to segue from Journey’s Valentine, which is a novella about Deuce and Pilar Journey, to their origins in Deuce’s Dancer. Deuce’s Dancer tells how they met and the squirmy, sensual route they took to find their HEA. You do not have to read Deuce’s Dancer in order to understand Journey’s Valentine or vice versa.

In this segment, Deuce and the girl he knows as “Angie” (Pilar’s stage name) are making love in Jamaica for the first time. They’ve waited a torturous time for this and Deuce surprises Pilar with a little bit of ouch.

She wanted more. Now!

“Turn onto your belly,” he told her as he lifted his head.

“What?”

He guided her by her hips. “Over.”

She didn’t want to be on her tummy, she wanted to wrap her legs around him and draw him deep, but he had other ideas. The sharp crack of his hand against her bottom made her gasp. Pleasure coursed through her. How did he know? How could he know she’d dreamed of a moment like this?

Angie/Pilar has a lot of secrets. Deuce seems to have found one out.

Presented at CBS Radio this week, I’m going to share a segment from my chart-topping book, The Winner: Romantek Book One with readers today. I hope it intrigues you enough to cause you to investigate further.

In this section, our contest winner, Audrey, has made a big, preventable boo-boo and waltzed into a saloon where she doesn’t belong in 1850. This week, I want to share a new tidbit from The Princess and the Huntsman. You might be familiar with this book because you own it, or because you’ve read excerpts before. It’s been a best seller and in the Amazon Top 100 for erotica, so people are reading it, and (I hope) liking it. That’s pretty gratifying from my perspective.

In this segment, find out what happens when Brandywyn strays into danger and Tom finds out.

“I shall spank you for your ill behavior,” he pronounced. “I cannot trust you to behave rightly when I go away, and yet I must hunt to provide meat for our table and goods from the village. You must behave!”

It’s Saturday Spankings day, January 18, 2014, and You Are There. Okay, I’m dating myself. That television series was actually even before my time. It has a great lead-in though. Irresistible.

So what am I going to share this week? I’m taking a page from The Strong, Silent Type because I haven’t focused on it for some time. A tiny tidbit was posted in my Horny Hump Day post earlier this week, but I get to share 8 sentences this time and I’m rarin’ to go.

In this segment, Mae is getting herself in trouble with the new Chief of Police of her tiny berg, Fire Gorge, Nevada. He’s a pretty sexy hunk, and Mae isn’t unaware of it. However, she doesn’t know what kind of deep hole she’s digging for herself.

“Go sit in the car.”

“No!” She took a stance—she hoped it looked like a strong one—and crossed her arms over her chest. “Gimme my phone and maybe, maybe, I’ll go back outside.”

His voice was calm, but his words were clipped. “Go back to the car or there will be consequences.”

“Consequences? You mean like you’ll handcuff me again?” Actually, being restrained by him might be appealing under the right circumstances.

Christmas stories are ubiquitous this time of year, and not to be left out, I have one too. It’s a short story, entitled “A Mouse in His Pocket.” You’ll find it here on my site, absolutely free. The story is told in two chapters, and is approximated 8000 words long. Somehow I managed to get several spankings and lot of lovely-dovey in there. And it ends on New Year’s Eve, so that the lovers can start the new year with the beginning of their happily ever after.

In this segment, Jenny thinks that Buck is sure to like her better if she dyes her hair. He liked her the way she was and spanks her. Jenny is mulling it over while recovering from the embarrassment and spanking.

He wanted her to have confidence in herself. If he didn’t care, he wouldn’t try to correct her, he’d dump her. But he hadn’t done that.

Jenny was surprised. In many ways, the spanking made her feel better. She’d fix her hair as soon as she could, and that would be the end of the issue. He’d ended it with a punishment for misbehavior. Now they’d move on. The fact that they’d move on together made her heart lighter.
