I’ve been wanting to bring Ashley Fontainne over for a visit. Having been on her radio program gave me an excellent opportunity to get to know her better. She’s a lovely, creative person, who writes some nail-biting thrillers. Her books are beautiful to look at and enthralling to read. Please allow me to introduce her latest, Whispered Pain. This is gonna give you shivers.
Ashley: The story of Angie Benson was originally a flash fiction piece (less than 1200 words) and was part of a horror anthology last year. I knew the minute I started it needed to be expanded, so I did!

Here is the synopsis, taken directly from the opening chapter:
I am no longer among the living. At least, I don’t think I am. I don’t remember my name, my age, or even my sex. I don’t feel. I can’t smell. I hear, but sounds don’t register emotional responses anymore. I see, but it’s all in muted gray. No vibrant colors.
No sense of time, space, awareness. I just…float. Like a weightless cloud drifting through the limitless universe. I don’t know where I am or how I arrived at this point. Ebony nothingness has swallowed me whole.

Ashley’s decided to delve into the paranormal with a Southern Gothic horror/suspense novel, Growl, which released in January of 2015. The suspenseful mystery Empty Shell, released in September of 2014. Ashley will be teaming up with Lillian Hansen (Ashley calls her mom!) to pen a three-part murder mystery/suspense series entitled The Magnolia Series. The first book, Blood Ties, is due out the Summer of 2015.
