This week, I’d like to share something new. It resides with my publisher now, waiting on its final edits. Striker is a crime/mystery erotic spanking romance. (Clearly, it is not discriminating among genres.) This is my first book for 2015, and my 31st book overall (including a few written under a pen name). I’m particularly proud of it as it represents the beginning of a transition for me.
In this segment, Jase Striker, police detective, finds his brand new partner, Angelica Piccolino, sitting at his desk, looking over his files. They haven’t hit it off well, and this doesn’t make it better.
I poked my head into Piccolino’s space, intending to make peace, but she wasn’t there. Maybe she had to pee. I shrugged and walked across the aisle to my own desk.
There she was. Sitting in my chair, at my desk, poring over the case file I’d left there. She spoke up before I could give her a piece of my mind.
“Quiet as a yak.”
“Are you always so abrasive, or do I bring out your finer qualities?”
The new partnership is going to take some getting used to.
Hop along to all the other Weekend Writing Warriors’ sites. There’s a lot to read.
